As of 1st Sep 2006, I am now a full-time, permanent employee of Malayan Banking Berhad! I know it doesn't sound too glamorous but it's the truth! Hahha! Am extremely glad that I have found a place to start my career, whether cool or not. I mean, of course, it isn't that bad too. I do have fun times and hair-pulling frustrating times too! Now am just buried under work.... my colleague says buried under water so we have all become mermaids... that I dun have time to really reflect and appreciate the fact that I am now a working adult. I know to some of you, it is like hello, get a life.. but for me who has been drifting for some time, I'm just glad to finally find a place I can call home (yeah second home, since I think I spend more time at work than at home!)

Just really wanna thank God cos for my position that I am employed in now, they were looking for someone with 3-5 years marketing experience but since I was on contract and they liked what I saw, my boss offered me a permanent position. =) God is good and His words to me to keep on going and being patient came to pass!!

A Quiet Evening of Wheel of Fortune

Been so long since I have gone to Joe's place for dinner and I was so glad to see Joe's parents and auntie =) Btw, before that I was browsing his neighbourhood store and seeing all the spices inspired me so much I have decided that I will make sure I try to do some simple cooking once in a while! Anyways.... Auntie's cooking is always so yummy! Curry chicken, bitter groud with prawns, tofu with minced meat, steamed ginger fish..... I think I know who to learn cooking from already!

Then Dear showed me his Peugeot Parking Game that is so hilariously interesting... good practice for all you aspiring drivers! Then I thought why dun we play Wheel of Fortune, which I surfed to while I was checking out how the game works cos I was having a 'Gameshow' after my cellgroup meeting. And we ended up playing that for so long! It is really fun esp for geeks like me who are not into action games like racing, etc... give me brain jogging anytime! Hahha!

And time for doing some plugging of my own site of games, FRESH GAMES! Being a youth leader, sometimes I really dread when cg day draws nearer and a million things not settled yet esp the games!! It's like you dun want to keep playing the old games but then you jus dun have enough time to go think of your own games. So I decided to help out all the youth leaders out there by compiling a list of games tried and tested by other leaders and some just purely worked out from my brain. Do pass the word around and if your frens have any interesting games, do ask them to email me (chaochuin at yahoo com sg) too! Thanks!! (Disclaimer: The site is still in development stage so the games are kinda few now, still they can immediately be played in your cg cos they worked at mine!!)

To a more fun world ~

A smile a day keeps the gloomies away

With my mum overseas, I have become the mother of the household. I've sternly warned my sister not to mess up the house and not to mess with me too. Am devoting one night to do laundry and clean up the house. Another rep I have is buying newspaper every morning. I will walk to the MRT station to catch the train and get the daily paper from there too. The newspaper seller is very cute and cheery. He's kinda elderly, with weather-worn wrinkled skin, but a very endearing smile. Today i-Weekly and 8 Days jus came out and he was happily asking all who passed his stall if they wanted to buy a copy. Hmm... just that smile cheered up my day =)

Killer Heels

They are not called killer heels for nothing. They can literally kill your feet. I just bought a pair of stiletto heels last week in classic black with a simple ribbon. Dun be deceived by its innocent demeanor though. They will cut into your flesh, squeeze you dry and tight and force you to keep upright no matter what. You can't escape cos you are stuck to them all the way, and you just have to keep on going. All for the sake of that extra height and lift, all for vanity's sake.

So today after a few days of self-torture (my endurance is high!), I settled for my sister's flats. I felt weird stepping out of the house, feeling....... well, short. As I walked on, I felt as if everyone was looking at me with my lowly flats. I had been demoted from the high proud heels to down-to-earth flats. Talk about being self-conscious! And my poor feet still hurt, the plasters refused to stand by me and started to unstick themselves from me any moment they found the opportunity to.

Oh, the cost of vanity! I wondered if I could face succumbing to those heels once again, when in one moment of weakness slipping in, I would be overwhelmed, surrounded and suffocated with the false comfort that everything was in control. Perhaps, I just enjoyed the better view up there.

(Btw, in my sister's one-size-bigger-than-mine flats, I tumbled down the steps of the overhead bridge from Suntec to CityLink. Not a pretty sight especially those reddish blackish blueish patches on my legs...... sigh! Shoes!)
